IFPL commenced its operations by acquiring an erstwhile Non-Banking Finance Company. IFPL categorised as an Investment Company initially, IFPL commenced Lending and Borrowing Operations by providing Inter Corporate Deposits in 2008. In 2009, the company got re-categorized as a Loan Company and thereby introduced various products to acquire larger customer base. Further, in 2011, IFPL added Loan against Gold as well as Collateralised Asset Finance to its Products basket spread across various product lines.

At present IFPL takes care of its business associates by providing short to medium term finance at a competitive of interest. In this way, a strong relationship is developed within the business group.

In the year 2013, IFPL has ventured into various other lines of funding amongst them being Agri-Warehousing Finance, Commodity Finance, Real Estate Funding, Collateral Management SME funding.
